From the Allan and Carol Hayes Collection
Allan and Carol Hayes, authors of "The
Desert Southwest: Four Thousand Years of Life and Art" have amassed
a large collection of pottery since they began collecting in around 1992.
Allan's previous book, "Southwestern
Pottery Anasazi to Zuni" co-authored by good friend, John Blom, has
become a must-have for pottery collectors, and is fondly referred to as
simply "A to Z" by museums, galleries and collectors alike. Their
subsequent book, "Collections
of Southwestern Pottery: Candlesticks to Canteens, Frogs to Figurines"
proved to the collector world that pottery comes in many different shapes
and sizes, and can be downright fun!
We are honored to offer some of the Hayes'
private collection for sale here at Pueblo Arts.
