Allen Hayes writes: "Until his death in 1942, Maria's husband Julian painted the decoration on her [Maria's] pottery.  After Julian died, Maria's daughter-in-law, Santana Roybal, took over the painting, and some collectors value her decoration over Julian's.  After 1955, Maria's son, Popovi, did the painting, and Santana continued working with her husband, Adam Martinez."
